Journal / Microneedling
The channel, and what sets its depth.
A tip opens a route that does not otherwise exist, and every question worth asking is about how deep, how wide, and how often. Formats, settings and technique, written for a device used at home rather than a clinic protocol.
The word covers at least three different objects. A roller, a pen, and a plastic cone that never breaks the surface are all sold under it, and only two of them do the thing the name describes. A good part of the confusion in this category is a vocabulary problem rather than a technical one.
The rest is borrowed expectation. Nearly everything written about downtime, frequency and results describes a clinical procedure at depths a consumer device does not reach. Carried across unchanged it produces both errors at once: worry about the parts that are ordinary, and casualness about the parts that are not.
Where there is no honest number, these entries say so instead of supplying one. re:tones has run no clinical study and no consumer panel, so there is no result figure here to quote, and any brand that hands you one for a home device is worth asking who measured it.
