re:tones PRO-R Nano Cartridge 3-Pack for the Tap Pen

Which tip to use
Setting it
Depth is on the device collar, not on the cartridge. It moves freely between 0.5 and 1.5 mm with no stops to click through. The three flow positions are on the cartridge itself.
The part
A round plate, and the heavier tip.
Both tips seat on the same device and travel the same 0.5 to 1.5 mm. What changes is the plate at the tip and the tip standing on it. This one is the circular array, carrying the 15 µm tip. It is the tip we tell you to start on.

Neither tip is claimed to work better than the other. Start on PRO-R Nano and keep it for the eye area and anywhere the skin is thin. PRO-5D Nano is the everyday tip once your settings are familiar.
How the tip is made
Too fine to mold. So it is etched from silicon.
The finest a mold can hold is about the width of a hair. The tip is 8 µm, roughly a tenth of that limit.

A mold could not hold it.
A molded polymer needle is stated to stop at 70 to 100 µm. Nothing this fine comes out of a mold.

So it is etched from silicon.
Photolithography draws the pattern, then deep reactive ion etching cuts it out of silicon stated at 99.9999 percent. It is a semiconductor process, run in an ISO Class 5 cleanroom.

The limit was found, not chosen.
A simulation ran 14 diameters from 3 µm to 120 µm across more than 200 geometries. Below about 5 µm the needle buckles at the force needed to enter.

It holds for the session it is built for.
One needle enters at 0.008 newtons and carries 4.75 times the load that would bend it. It holds that shape for one session, then the cartridge is finished.

Fabrication, force and margin figures come from the manufacturer's engineering document, covering work dated 2024 to 2026. Tip diameters are manufacturing specifications. The array is etched from silicon at a stated 99.9999 percent. The surface over it is silicon nitride, about 120 nm. Every figure and its basis is listed on the science page.

How long does a three pack last?
Three sessions, which is about three weeks at one a week. Order the next pack while you still have one left.
Can I use both tips in one session?
Yes. Fit the round tip for the eye area, then change to the square one for the rest of the face. That is two cartridges in a session, not one.
Will it fit a device that is not the Tap Pen?
No. The seat is specific to the re:tones Skin Rejuvenation Tap Pen Device. It is the same seat as the cartridge that came in the box.
What if a pouch arrives already open?
Do not use it. Send us a photograph and we replace the pack, with shipping on us.
Can I use one twice if it still looks new?
No. The seal is what makes it sterile, so once the pouch is open the cartridge is a used part. That is the whole reason it ships this way.

Same quality as the ones that came with the device
These are identical to the cartridges that came in the box with my MTS — same sterile sealed pouches, same sharp needles, same smooth click-in fit. I use one cartridge per weekly session and this 3-pack lasts me 3 weeks perfectly. The PRO-5D is my everyday go-to for cheeks and forehead, and the PRO-R is perfect for the delicate eye area. Subscription is a no-brainer
At $24.49 on the subscription with free shipping it's basically $8 per treatment. That's insane value for at-home microneedling. The cartridges arrive on time, always sealed and sterile. Cancelled my derma clinic appointments. This is so much more affordable.

Needles are incredibly fine
The 8-micrometer needles on the PRO-5D are unbelievably fine. You barely feel anything during the treatment. Each cartridge comes individually sealed in a foil pouch which makes me feel good about sterility. They click into the device effortlessly. I go through about a pack a month and the quality has been consistent every single time. No dull needles, no defects.

Great refills
Good quality, easy to swap in. Needles feel sharp and fresh every time. I wish you could buy just the PRO-5D ones separately since I use those way more, but the pack is still a great deal.

Never reuse, just reorder

The PRO-R is a game changer for sensitive areas
I was only using the PRO-5D for everything but started using the PRO-R Nano around my eyes and on my neck where the skin is thinner. The 15-micrometer needles are gentler and the circular array feels softer on delicate skin. So glad they include one in every pack. The combo of two PRO-5D and one PRO-R is the perfect ratio for how I use them.

Consistent quality
On my fourth 3-pack now. Every single cartridge has been perfectly sealed, sharp, and clicks into the device smoothly. Zero issues. The flow control positions on the cartridge are a nice detail too — lets you adjust how much serum dispenses. Great product.

Worth it for fresh needles every time
Don't even think about reusing cartridges — just get this 3-pack. Fresh sterile needles make such a difference in how comfortable the treatment feels and how clean your skin stays after. The PRO-5D is my main one for my full face and I save the PRO-R for around my eyes. This pack is perfectly set up for that. The subscription price is really reasonable too.
