What goes down the channel.
Concentrations, molecular weight, and what a number printed on a carton does and does not tell you. We publish what is in the vial. We do not translate it into a result, because that conversion is where most skincare copy stops being true.
Numbers on a carton are the most honest thing in skincare and the most misread. 210,000 ppm and 21 percent are the same figure. One of them sounds enormous, and the choice between them was made in a marketing meeting long before you saw the box.
So these entries teach the arithmetic and then draw its limit. Where an active plausibly does its work at hundreds of parts per million and where it needs percentages, why the same name at the same strength behaves differently at a different molecular weight, and why a big number near the top of an ingredient list is sometimes a warning rather than a boast.
